Joey Herring, Biologist/Botanists

Joey (Loni) Herring joined Ecosphere in 2006 and serves as the New Mexico projects manager.  She has 10 years experience as a project manager working with NEPA, ESA, CWA and Federal Land Policy & Management Act (FLPMA). She has effectively managed numerous projects for compliance with state and federal mandates in the oil and gas, mining, utility and transportation industries, and has worked collaboratively with federal, state and tribal agencies including the BLM, Bureau of Reclamation, National Forest Service, and the BIA.  She has extensive experience overseeing ESA compliance within NEPA documentation and working directly with the USFWS. Joey possesses expertise in designing and executing vegetation and habitat analyses for application in natural resource development, restoration, and reclamation. She is also highly proficient in flora field identification, habitat evaluation and vegetation community characterization. She is permitted through the USFWS and specializes in threatened and endangered species identification, impact assessment and mitigation. Joey received her B.S. in environmental biology, summa cum laude, from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
