Ecosphere is proficient with all the stormwater planning permitting requirements in New Mexico and Colorado, including the associated routine inspection requirements.
Within New Mexico and in the boundaries of tribal lands in Colorado, Ecosphere prepares Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) in accordance with the USEPA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Stormwater Regulations. For stormwater discharges located in Colorado (excluding tribal lands), Ecosphere prepares Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP) in accordance with the Colorado Water Quality Control Division.
For construction activities, Ecosphere recommends and employs Best Management Practices (BMPs) based on Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE) and USEPA Guidance Documents, as well as other engineering proactive sources. Prior projects include permitting for oil and gas construction and development, industrial facilities, utility projects, housing developments, and wetland mitigation projects.
Ecosphere offers a multidisciplinary approach to watershed assessment with expertise in hydrology, geomorphology, GIS, wetlands, and biology. Staff are experienced in watershed delineation, landcover classification, aquatic habitat classification and assessment, and non-point source pollution load assessment. Ares of specialization include nutrient cycling, eutrophication, and assimilative capacity studies.
