Expert Guidance
The foundation of Ecosphere’s practice is in federal, state, and local environmental regulatory permitting and compliance. Ecosphere staff have the expertise and permits to conduct special status species surveys throughout the western United States. We are ready to mobilize field biologists and scientists to survey land areas and your projects as required by the:
- National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
- Clean Water Act (CWA)
- Endangered Species Act (ESA)
- Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA)
- California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
Ecosphere has prepared hundreds of NEPA documents, including EAs, EISs, CEs, and supporting studies as a “third-party preparer” on behalf of federal resource management agencies and as a contractor to the project proponent. Our NEPA experience includes oil and gas, mining, railroad, transmission and utility line, highway and road, and fiber optics communication projects. Senior team members have also been involved with several large CEQA projects involving energy development and transportation in California. This experience includes work as principle investigators for natural resource issues for the preparation of Environmental Impacts Reports (EIRs) and as a third-party quality control document reviewer and compliance specialist. Senior team members have also provided expert witness testimony and trainings related to CEQA document preparation.
